TechEd 2014 Countdown Show Ep. 7: The One with Jam Session News

Another week. Another Countdown Show. Another announcement.

Rick Claus (@RicksterCDN) and Joey Snow (@JoeySnow are back to announce that the TechEd Jam Sessions are back and will be at the House of Blues. Just a few blocks from the convention center, the House of Blues is going to be jumping the Tuesday night of TechEd.

I don’t have a musical bone in my body, so I will be watching what happens onstage rather than being onstage (and you can all thank me for that later), but I usually make it a point to stop by and check out what’s going on. I’m always amazed at the talented people in the TechEd community. You expect the technical ability that is on display every day, but artistic skills like these? The Jam Sessions makes it clear that the stereotype of the IT nerd is just that, a stereotype.

Side note: After watching this week’s episode, I think Rick and Joey could really pull off being the Blues Brothers. Suits and hats (sorry Rick, Tilleys are awesome, but not for the Blues Brothers), and they’re ready to go.

In this episode the guys also talk about the airports in Houston. Yes, there are two airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Houston Hobby (HOU). I normally fly Southwest, so I’ll be going through Hobby, but I’m sure a lot of you will be at the other place. Fun fact: William P. Hobby was the 27th Governor of the State of Texas and publisher of the Houston Post.
