Upgraded WordPress to 2.5.1
I upgraded WordPress to 2.5.1 tonight. There has been a lot of discussion on the forums by people unhappy about the new interface for writing posts. I have to say that I agree with them. Check out friskDesign’s post and KJToo’s post. The new layout requires you to scroll up and down much more than in the past. Moving some of the meta items for the post would be easier to access if they returned to the right side of the window.
Unfortunately the folks who develop WordPress don’t seem to be too interested in responding to these concerns. A few users have put their own hacks/plugins together, so I may check them out and see whether it is a viable fix. You can find one here and another here.

Hi, I saw your post via trackback to mine. I’m Matthew Hill (friskdesign) who’s been commenting on this issue all over the place for the last few weeks. You might also find these discussions useful; Best regards.

This is the most interesting one, I questioned one of the Information Architects on the project, Liz Danzico:

I posted a comment earlier but it might have been marked as spam as I put a few links in it — all related to the 2.5 fiasco. I hope it didn’t get deleted automatically. 🙁
