TechEd North America Insider Update (March 6)
Microsoft sent an email out today with some TechEd North America updates. If you didn’t get it, make sure you sign up for the newsletter so you don’t miss out.
Convention Center Website
The New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau has setup a website for TechEd attendees. This site is a great launchpad for information about New Orleans that you can use to plan your visit. There is a lot to do in New Orleans, and even though conference activities are going to take up most of your time, you should make sure you get out and see the city. Even a little taste of NOLA — whether a taste of food, culture, history, or whatever — will make you want to come back for more… and maybe stay a little longer. People always want to go and checkout Bourbon Street, and that’s great, but NOLA is so much more than that.
Jam Sessions
The first of the evening events have now been announced. The Jam Sessions will take place on Tuesday, June 4, at the House of Blues from 9 PM and 1 AM. If you haven’t been to Jam Sessions before, here’s what last year’s conference guide had to say:
Discover the hidden talents of your fellow TechEd attendees — and show off your own! Jump on stage and jam with other musically inclined attendees! You’ll have access to lyrics, instruments, sheet music, and a complete sound and lighting system.
I didn’t make it to B.B. King’s last year, but I know many folks did make it over there. With all the evening events, there’s no way to fit it all in!
TechEd Discussion Forum
The discussion forums for TechEd have been a part of the myTechEd portal in the past, but things are a bit different this last year. At this point we’re not quite sure what functionality is going to carry over from myTechEd, but the discussion forums have a new home — Channel 9. Head on over to the TechEd North America forum and join the conversation. If you have questions, suggestions, or just want to get to know your fellow attendees, the forum is the place to be. I try to keep up with the conversations as best I can, so you’ll probably see me there.
