TechEd 2014 Countdown Show Ep. 9: The One with Pre-TechEd MVA Goodness
Can you believe we’re eleven weeksweeks away from TechEd? That probably isn’t news to you through, since you keep tabs on the countdown over at the TechEd Countdown website and follow @TechEdCountdown on Twitter, right? (That’s a hint for those of you who aren’t…)
Being another week closer to Houston means it’s time for another TechEd Countdown Show. This episode is number nine, and Rick Claus (@RicksterCDN) and Joey Snow (@JoeySnow talk about Brad Anderson’s upcoming Reddit, dress codes, and pre-cons.
If you haven’t heard already, Brad Anderson will be doing a Reddit AMA on February 27 at 11 AM PST. We’ll be hearing from Brad at the opening keynote in Houston, but this AMA will be your chance to ask Brad anything. Have questions about TechEd? Wondering about the Cloud? Pondering the place of IT Pros in this brave new world? Ask Brad!
The guys also talk dress codes in response to a discussion on the forum. If you’re new to TechEd, don’t get too stressed about the dress code. The reality is there is none (within reason). Bring comfortable shoes, wear layers (it can get chilly in air conditioned convention centers), and be comfortable. I’m usually in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt (I’d wear Hawaiian shirts everyday if it were up to me). If you’re thinking about visiting some of Houston’s nicer establishments you might need something that’s a step up from what you wear during the day.
Lastly, if you’re not attending a pre-con, you might want to take another look and get registered. I’ve never attended a precon myself, but I know people who have and they’ve generally raved about the quality of the content presented. These sessions won’t be recorded, so if something interests you, don’t miss that opportunity. You can find the list of pre-cons on the TechEd website.
That’s the rundown this week’s Countdown Show. Check in next week to see what Rick and Joey are up to next.
