TechEd 2013 in San Francisco? May 6-9? Maybe, Maybe not.
Update: Jeff Guillet updated his blog post (shamelessly copied from mine as he put it) with a statement from Microsoft that he and I received this afternoon:
Microsoft evaluates multiple cities and locations when planning its events. Currently, no contracts have been signed for TechEd North America 2013, and the destination has not been finalized. We are looking forward to seeing customers in Orlando at TechEd 2012 this June.
So, as Jeff says on his site, TechEd may be in San Francisco on those dates or it may not be. Someone at the Moscone Center must have though things were pretty close, however, to have updated their online calendar. Given that the conference guides have always identified the location and dates for the next year, and we’re only about three months out, they will be finalizing things with someone somewhere during that time. I guess we’ll have to wait and see with whom and where.
Original Post:
Usually one of the most anticipated pieces of news each year at Microsoft TechEd is where the location will be for the following year. Usually we have to wait to get the conference guide and see the pitch for the next year to find out. Not this year.
Someone on Twitter, @PeterConrad4, passed along a link from the Moscone Center web site that shows TechEd 2013 will be in San Francisco! Dates for the conference will be May 6-9, 2013, in Moscone North, South, and West. This would be the first time the conference has been held in the City by the Bay.

An entry for TechEd 2013 is also on the KCBS web site (the San Francisco CBS affiliate). They may simply be reusing information from the Moscone Center web site.
