My new HR20 DirecTV DVR was locked up again this morning. This time it had been powered off, so it wouldn’t power up until we unplugged it and then plugged it back in again. A technician is coming out tomorrow between 1 and 5 to “service” the unit and possibly replace. I’m curious what exactly they can do to service the unit. It isn’t like they’re going to whip out a soldering iron and start replacing components.
We went through this exact same thing with our old Hughes TiVo from DirecTV. The unit failed in basically the same way when we first received it. The replacement unit worked perfectly so hopefully that will be the case this time as well.
