Microsoft Ignite 2016 Hotel Update (February 22)
It’s time for my next update to the (unofficial) Microsoft Ignite 2016 hotel list, and it’s a doozy!
The slow but steady booking of hotels went into overdrive since my last update. Chuck Richards brought it to my attention today that on Friday he noticed the first sold out hotels outside of downtown. I was apparently asleep at the wheel and didn’t check Midtown and Buckhead when I was writing my last update. As Peppermint Patty might say, “Nice job, Chuck!”
Tonight I made sure to review all three neighborhoods,,and the list of sold out hotels has grown from thirteen to twenty! That’s almost half of the hotel block gone (20 out of 43). If you haven’t registered for Ignite yet, here are seven more hotels you won’t be able to book unless someone cancels:
- Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center (Buckhead)
- Atlanta Marriott Marquis (Downtown)
- Atlanta Marriott Midtown Suites (Midtown)
- Courtyard Atlanta Midtown/Georgia Tech (Midtown)
- Hilton Garden Inn Midtown (Midtown)
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Midtown (Midtown)
- Hotel Indigo (Downtown)
Three hotels are also showing as unavailable when doing a search for Sunday-Friday.
Hyatt Atlanta Midtown (Midtown)
Loews Hotel (Midtown)
Twelve Centennial (Downtown)
We also have one SOLD OUT hotel showing availability. The Hampton Inn Atlanta Downtown is listed as being sold out, but it is coming up as available for booking when searching Sunday-Friday. (Your mileage may vary.)
The big takeaway from all of this is that rooms are going fast! Check out the (unofficial) Microsoft Ignite 2016 Hotel list then hightail it over to the Registration site and register now for the best choice of hotel rooms. If you wait too much longer, you might be looking for a friend with a couch in their room for you to crash on.
See you in Atlanta!
