Microsoft Ignite 2019 Early Registration and Hotel List
Early registration for Microsoft Ignite 2019 opened on May 21 for anyone who had pre-registered for Ignite. In years past I would have been logged in and registered within five minutes of hearing the news. This year, however, I didn’t register until late in in the day on the 23rd. Whey the delay? I’m being transferred to a new unit at the university where I work, and for once I had to get approval to go. Can’t say I’m a fan, but as they say, “Que será, será.” More on the new gig later.
If you pre-registered and have not completed your registration, you have until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Monday, May 27 to do so. After that, you will be competing with everyone else for those passes and hotel rooms. Head over to the registration site, and logon with the same credentials you used to preregister.
Keep reading for additional info from the registration site about passes and hotels. There will be another post about the Pre-Day Workshops and the Diversity and Tech Pre-Day sessions.
Passes
The current options for passes are listed below. Note that the discount passes for faculty, staff, and students are limited in number, so register as soon as possible if you qualify for either of those options.
Full Conference Pass | $2,395 | All access. All sessions. All event socials. The full conference pass provides access to all sessions, content, The Hub, the attendee celebration, and all conference meals and swag. |
Academic Faculty & Staff Discount | The discounted academic faculty and staff pass offers the same access as the full conference pass. A limited number of these passes are available.
Student Discount | The discounted student pass offers the same access as the full conference pass. A limited number of these passes are available.
Convenience Pass | $500 - Limited Availability | Available as an add-on to a full conference registration, the convenience pass lets you book a room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, which is connected via skybridge to the Orange County Convention Center. This pass is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and available only while rooms last. |
Pre-Day Workshop | $500 | Each pre-day workshop offers in-depth content on a topic developed specifically for the Microsoft Ignite audience to address attendees’ most relevant needs. Pre-day workshops (on Sunday, Nov. 3) are available as an add-on to a full conference pass. The fee includes a full day of dedicated class time with a noted industry expert, lunch, and materials (if applicable). Select from a list of pre-day workshops during the registration process. |
Diversity & Tech Full Pre-Day | $195 | The Microsoft Ignite Diversity and Tech pre-day is where you’ll connect with peers who are equally passionate about boosting diversity and inclusion both at work and in local communities. This year’s theme focuses on understanding intersectionality as a Diversity Superpower. Passes are limited and available while seats last. Each pass purchased directly supports an underrepresented beneficiary from one of Microsoft Ignite’s partner non-profit organizations in attending this event. |
Celebration Companion Pass | $250 | Access to Ignite Celebration for a guest (21+). |
Hotels
We have already seen some hotels go from being available to unavailable just in the first day or two of early registration. If there is a specific hotel you want to book, register sooner than later. The hotels that are adjacent to the convention center or are within a quick walk usually sell out first. If you’re like me and don’t want to spend time on buses, you want to book now.
If you want to see info about conference hotels (e.g., rates, availability, and more) but you are not registered already, you’re in luck! Head over to my (unofficial) Microsoft Ignite Hotels page to get the scoop.
I have been posting this list every year for a while now, and it is a quick and easy way to see what is available in the hotel block without logging on to the registration site. The table is interactive, letting you sort columns and filter on availability, neighborhood, and the hotel brand. Please note that this is not live data. That’s only available on Microsoft’s site. Please be sure to read the disclaimers for the list as well.
