I know everyone loves the videos from Chicago, but this week is completely in the studio. Don’t worry though, Rick and Joey promise more fun stuff is coming. Next week In particular sounds like a great show. There’s a lot of hinting at the end of the show, and it sounds like they have next week’s show “in the bag” if you know what I mean.
This week they focus on questions from the forum, leading off with a fairly common question every year: &How can I meet people from my geographic area or industry?& Some great places to start are on Twitter. Just tweet your questions and comments and make sure you include the hashtag #MSIgnite. Come May, we’re going to be drowning in that hashtag as the conference kicks it into overdrive, but even now, you’ll find it’s a great way to get questions answered.
Another place to meet up with people is on the Ignite Forums on Channel 9. Head over, logon with your Channel 9 account (set one up if you haven’t already), and jump in. Start a thread and ask your questions, setup meetups, and get to know your fellow attendees and speakers. Join in on other threads and share your wisdom and experience if you’ve been to TechEd or any of the other predecessors to Ignite. (An always useful conference tip: Wear comfy shoes!)
Question 2 asks &qupt; How can I learn who’ll be presenting, and get in touch with speakers?” This question is perfectly timed because news about speakers has trickled out on Twitter and in blogs over the last week. The Session Catalog on the Ignite website now has speaker info for sessions including photos, bios, and links to other sessions. See someone you think is a not-to-miss speaker? Share it with your community using the links provided. Just click that button that says Share this Speaker.
The third and last question for the episode is &I’ve already registered. Can I still add a Pre-Day Session?& Nope. You can’t. You missed a once-in-a-lifetime-chance to further your career and your professional and personal development.
Just kidding. Of course you can! If you find a session in the seventeen that are being offered that interest you, you can return the registration site, logon, and add that Pre-Day to your schedule.
That’s it for the mail bag this week. Tune in next week when Rick and Joey give us a sneak peek at something they tease at the end of the video. I’m hoping it’s what i think it is….
If you haven’t registered yet, head over to the Ignite website and register now. You might need to be creative with your lodging, however, as the conference hotel lists appears to be sold out. You can check out my post with showing hotel availability (as of March 2).
