71/366 Deer at Creve Coeur Lake
My favorite place to walk is at Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park. The path I follow circles both Creve Coeur Lake and smaller Mallard Lake. Half the route around Mallard Lake is through a wooded area on a dirt path. With no bikes and not many people usually, it feels more secluded that it really is, but there is a large section of woods, and I often see deer when I’m out there.
Today was no exception. Because the trees are still bare, the deer are easier to spot and as I expected I soon spotted a few as they foraged. I was surprised as I kept noticing more and more as I looked around. Eventually I counted at least ten deer in total, and there may have been more. They saw me, but didn’t move away, so I was able to watch them for quite a while.
