Microsoft Ignite 2017 Early Registration, Hotel List

Microsoft Ignite Early RegistrationIt happened a day later than expected, but early registration for Microsoft Ignite 2017 opened today for anyone who pre-registered. If you pre-registered for Ignite, you should have received an email today inviting you to register. Early registration is open until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on March 27. Registration opens to the public on March 28.

Passes

Passes and options are similar to previous years with one exception. It does not appear that here is an early registration discount this year. That will be disappointing news for some.

If you’re wondering about the Convenience Pass, that’s last year’s Plus Pass back with a new name. The Convenience Pass is available as an add-on to your conference pass for $490 and includes the following (taken directly from the Ignite website):

  • Access to a limited number of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, which is connected via skybridge to the Orange County Convention Center. Note: You will still need to make your hotel reservation on the hotel page during the registration process.
  • Convenient name badge & materials pickup in your Convenience Pass hotel on select days/times.
  • Express luggage check available on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center.

If you want to stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, it will cost you $490 in addition to the daily hotel rate of $259 (plus tax). You can’t get any closer, but it will cost you. The Hilton Orlando also connects to the Convention Center, but is not part of the hotel block. I’m not sure why, but keep that in mind as well.

Hotels

If people are registering for Ignite, that means they are also booking hotel rooms. As we know from previous years, hotel rooms seem to sell out faster and faster each year. If you want your choice of hotels (especially if you want the hotels right at the convention center), you need to register as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, information about the conference hotel block is only available inside of the registration system. If you are not ready or able to register it’s not easy for you to see which hotels are available. Never fear, however, as I have just the thing for you: my (unofficial) Microsoft Ignite Hotels page.

I have been posting this list every year for a while now, and it is a quick and easy way to see what is available in the hotel block without logging on to the registration site.  The table is interactive, letting you sort columns and filter on availability, neighborhood, and the hotel brand. I also provide distances from the hotels to the convention center.

Check it out my Microsoft Ignite 2017 Hotels page. I hope you find it useful.
