Our hotel stay started out well enough at the Hotel Milano in Old San Juan. After settling in we walked up to the Parrot Club and had a great dinner. We walked back, headed up to the room, and made ready for the next day. Just as were going to bed we started to hear a dripping in the bathroom. When I checked it out, I discovered that water was seeping through the ceiling tile into the shower. Great.

So we had to pack up, get dressed, and move down the hall into a room half the size of ours with a smaller bed and a tiny bathroom. The AC doesn’t work as well, and to top it off, my phone has a scratch across the screen that wasn’t there before we moved. Good thing I have the replacement insurance on it. and at least it still works.

Sigh. We’re ready to get on the ship tomorrow.

We just laded at the airport in San Juan. Couple hours late but at least we made it.

Off the Plane

Now we are all in the terminal. Apparently it is going to take longer than they thought since they need to get yet another part.

Wait, they just said we can reboard.

Still in Miami. We sat out on a taxi way for a while before they turned the plane around and went back to the gate due to mechanical problems. It wouldn’t be so bad but it is hot and humid in here with no real ventilation. For all we know that may be the mechanical problem.

This is the reason we always fly out a day early for our cruises. Hopefully they will get us out of here soon. At least the baby a few seats over finally stopped crying.

They just announced that they went back to a hangar for part, and we will be on our way once they replace it.

Vacation!

We’re off! In Miami right now, waiting for our flight to San Juan to leave. Tomorrow we board Regal Princess and start a 10 day Panama Canal cruise. Along the way we will be visiting Aruba, Puerto Amador (Panama), Puntarenas (Costa Rica), Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala), Huatulco (Mexico), and finally Acapulco (also in Mexico of course).

I really need this vacation.
