CDW-G Article

We upgraded our SAN this summer, replacing a Xiotech Magnitude Classic with a Magnitude 3D. We purchased the equipment through CDW-G, and shortly afterwards they asked if they could do a story about the purchase for one of their publications. A little publicity never hurts, so I told them it was OK with me. I figured it would be a short blurb somewhere, but it wound up being a couple pages in their September 2005 Higher Education mailer. They even sent a photographer to St. Louis to take some photos.

I forgot about it for the most part, until someone at work mentioned something about an article and a cover photo. As it turned out, I wasn’t on the mailing list for the catalog, so I didn’t know it had been released. A quick email to CDW-G fixed that and now I have four copies of both versions of the mailer, one is thicker than the other and the article and photos have been adjusted accordingly.

I tried to find an online version to link to, but wasn’t able to find any. So I made my own PDF which I’m posting here (hopefully CDW-G won’t mind). So check out the CDW-G September 2005 article with the catchy name: School Effectively Meets Growing Storage Requirements

I’ve also posted a couple of the photos from the article. There’s something very strange about seeing yourself on the cover of a magazine.

I mentioned in April that Trader Joe’s was coming to Creve Coeur. Since then, absolutely nothing has happened at the site. Well, that’s finally changed. Kristin drove by recently and saw signs up that say Trader Joe’s is coming. Yay!

After a couple of so-so albums, Depeche Mode looks like they’re back in the groove. The video for Precious (the first single off the album, Playing the Angel) was released today, and it and the song are fantastic! Go download the DM Receiver to check it out.

Precious is available as a digital download now and will be released as a regular single on October 3. The album follows on October 17. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the tracks.

Unfortunately, they aren’t scheduled to be anywhere near St. Louis on their tour later this year. Chicago is the closest stop, but the show is mid-week, and we’re out of vacation days.

Found out tonight that the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland now accepts priority seating up to 60 days in advance. Previously you had to make reservations at the restaurant the day of your visit, or if you were a hotel guest, you could make reservations for the following day. So now we’re all set for an 11:30 lunch next month. Mmm, can’t wait for my Monte Cristo.

We brought out the Packers plates, Packers silverware, Packers shirts, Packers Christmas Tree, and Collen was wearing his Packers bandanna, but the Green Bay Packers opened the season with a loss in Detroit. Well, we tried. There’s always next week, and next time we get Detroit at Lambeau.
