As Dave Barry would say, wouldn’t “bent axle” make a great name for a rock band?
Unfortunately it describes my car. A few weeks ago I clipped a curb while making a right turn onto Olive Blvd. I didn’t think anything of it until I took the car in for an alignment when it started pulling to the left. Apparently my rear axle is bent, but when I took it to the dealer, they weren’t able to see where it was damaged. They’re going to put it on the frame machine at their body shop to figure out where the problem is.
Can’t wait to see what this will cost….

I watched the debates last night and was impressed at the quality of the event overall. I thought Kerry was the clear winner of the debate, and the polls seem to be bearing that out. Bush did not seem to be as well-prepared as Kerry, pausing for several seconds a few times when faced with what apparently were questions he didn’t expect.
Bush also kept repeating a couple points over and over again, even when they had no relevance to the question he was being asked. His claim that Kerry was sending mixed messages to troops and world leaders was a weak argument in the first place, but it was even more lame every time he came back to it. I guess he couldn’t remember any of his other talking points.
The next debate is here in St. Louis. I will be working from home that day. There is no way I’m going to campus and deal with that circus.

I stopped by the Brentwood Trader Joe’s during the week to see how things are progressing. All the fixtures appear to be in place. Just needs some finish work and merchandise. The grand opening is October 15 according to the window. I’m hoping they do a soft opening before that. Only two more weeks!!!
