Last night we saw Simon and Garfunkel in concert at the Savvis Center. The place was packed, and I don’t think I’ve ever been in an audience that was so pumped up for a show. Consider that all they had to do to receive the first of several standing ovations was walk out on stage. They hadn’t played St. Louis since 1968, so people were ready for this show.

I’ve always wanted to see them perform live, but never thought I’d get the chance. When they first announced the tour and didn’t play St. Louis on the first leg, I was crushed. Thankfully, they caught us on the second half before they head to Europe.

The show was incredible. They covered a wide selection of songs, although the only song they played from “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.” was “The Sound of Silence.” I really wanted them to do “Bleecker Street,” but it wasn
